About

A Bit of Background

OIRA strives to maintain the peacefulness, beauty and neighborliness of our 550 home Osborn island. located in Little Egg Harbor Twp and  nestled in Great Bay. We are minutes, by boat or car from the Atlantic Ocean, LBI and Atlantic City. We are within an hour and a half of both Philadelphia and NYC. We have deep wide lagoons for out 350+/- waterfront homes. We are also home to a small bay beach with walking access to our most south western spot, Graveling Point, a significant fishing spot for striped bass fishermen in spring and fall. Great Bay is fed by the Mullica River, which runs thru the NJ Pinelands, and is the cleanest brackish water on the East Coast of America.

OIRA MISSION

“In order to preserve the environment and quality of life on Osborn Island, to generate neighborliness among its residents and protect the value of the property, to discourage overdevelopment and commercial exploitation of the area and to encourage pride in the region’s history, this not for profit association was formed on the 23rd of March 1989”.
